Our Story🥐
It all began in October 2008, with just eight exhibitors and 120 curious guests. That first French Market sparked something special — a place where music, flavour, friendship and creativity came together under the open sky.
Today, the market is a beloved tradition, drawing together locals and travellers for a taste of Europe in the Free State.
But Villa Avianto is more than a market. It’s a sanctuary for the senses. A place where rustic elegance meets community, and celebration is always in season.

We believe in wholehearted living — in slow mornings, shared meals, and deep belly laughter. Whether you’re strolling through our Cultural Food Market, sipping coffee after a Spice Walk, or dancing barefoot under string lights at a private function, you’re part of something timeless.
At Villa Avianto, cultures collide in the best way — through flavour, music, and handmade artistry. Every detail, from the long tables to the scent of fresh pastries, is an invitation to pause and enjoy.
🐾 Saturday Spice Walks
Every Saturday, our gardens and trails open for a Spice Walk — a gentle, dog-friendly route through nature, perfect for families, trail runners, and hiking groups.
Come early (08:00 in summer, 09:00 in winter), bring your loved ones (even the furry ones), and end your morning with a fresh pastry and good coffee at our café.
